Early December is technically still autumn, but it always felt like winter in Colorado. Here in Virginia there are still a few colorful leaves on the trees, mostly due to the gorgeous Japanese maples that are sprinkled throughout town. This one in my parents' front yard keeps me craving pumpkin soup and apple cider. Its bold red color is also a great transition to Christmastime, making the Japanese maple the perfect early December tree!
